Sam Bahadur: The Movie That's Like Your Favorite Pair of Jeans - A Bit Faded, But Still Comfy AF

I watched Sam Bahadur the same day I watched Animal. Talk about a cinematic whiplash! One's a biopic about a war hero, the other's about Muppets on cocaine.

Sam Bahadur, aka Sam Hormusji Framji Jamshedji Manekshaw (seriously, who comes up with these names?), was India's first Field Marshal, a badass who saw more action than a Bollywood stuntman. From fighting alongside the British in Burma to becoming India's first FM in 1973, this dude was a legend. ️

But cramming all that life into 3 hours is like trying to fit Sam's personality into a size XS kurta. Vicky Kaushal does his best to channel Sam's swagger and mustache, but even he can't save the movie from feeling a bit...shortchanged. #MissedOpportunities

Director Meghna Gulzar, who usually knocks it out of the park with films like Talvar and Raazi, stumbles here. The movie jumps around like a kid hopped up on sugar, leaving you feeling like you missed half the story. #BiopicBingeWorthy

One minute you're in WW2, the next you're celebrating Independence Day, then BAM! China's at the border and Sam's giving everyone the stink eye. The whole "politics behind Sam not getting the top job" thing is brushed over faster than you can say "Operation Polo," leaving you with more questions than a quizzical parrot.

Basically, this biopic feels watered down, like they ran out of chai and had to use lukewarm water instead. ☕️ It's a story begging for a web series, where we can dive deep into Sam's epic life, his mischievous streak, and all the juicy behind-the-scenes drama. #WebSeriesNeeded

So, should you watch it? Well, if you wanna see Vicky Kaushal rock a killer mustache and perfect Sam's "I-told-you-so" glare, then go for it. Otherwise, as Sam himself might say, "Save your rupees and watch it on Zee5, sweetie." #BollywoodBudget #OTTChillax

P.S. I'm still not sure what Manekshaw has against doors. Every time he enters a room, it's gotta be with a dramatic flourish and a door slam that could wake the dead. #DramaKing #DoorSlamDynasty

P.P.S. I'm pretty sure I saw a pigeon do a better job with historical accuracy in a TikTok video. #JustSaying #PigeonPower

    1. If you compare it with Animal, Sam Bahadur is a better experience.
