I have served. I will be of service
These are the guiding principles by which everyone who serves the High Table is supposed to live by. Everybody in the John Wick universe works for the High Table, you cross the High Table, your life is forfeit.

John Wick: Chapter 3 is rightly titled PARABELLUM which means: Prepare for War. War explodes into the screen figuratively and literally right from the getgo. John Wick 3 starts immediately after the end of John Wick 2 with John Wick set to be declared excommunicado in the next 1 hour and the bounty on his head going open and international at the same time. John is literally on the run since every door associated with The Continental and the High Table is now closed to him and all services are denied.

The movie peels another layer in the onion that I mentioned in the previous post as we go deeper into the lore of how the High Table and this Society is supposed to work. The movie has significant religious undertones as you come across terms like: "adjudicator", "penance", "deconsecrate". All the characters in this world are heavily tattooed in religious motifs and iconography which has its own language that will need to be deciphered maybe in a separate post.

We also know more about John Wick's background and his upbringing, he's a Belarusian who was known as "Jardani Jonovich". The movie has enough meat and bones left in it to go into another part and Keanu Reeves has enough has a character arc that can easily justify the 4th movie.

The fight sequences are amazingly choreographed, the gun-fu fights are a treat to watch. the action sequences are also taken up a notch with John Wick using knives, machetes and even horses to kick the crap out of his enemies. Halle Berry provides a perfect foil for him and her dogs take the highlight for the fight in Casablanca Morroco.

John Wick has set the bar high for the action genre with the way things are choreographed, the fights actions and the action set pieces almost take a dance form.

Verdict: Must Watch for action fans....
