Rocking 90's

Growing up in India in the 90's was the time to be. The country was opening up due to the liberalization reforms and things were on a high. Music industry in India was particularly experiencing a period of Renaissance.

The pop and singles market just exploded in India. Coming at the heels of Gulshan Kumar selling T-Series cassettes at dirt cheap prices, the explosion of cable TV with channels like MTV, V Music making entries into households, it was the golden period of Indian music.

Films being the only previous source of music and songs, it was no longer the case, Alisha Chinoy crooning Made in India, Bally Sagoo, Malkit Singh belting out Punjabi Tracks, Apache Indian, Stereo Nation and Bombay Viking were mixing the songs like nobody's business.

The 90's were the time we got singers like Sonu Nigam, Shaan, KK, Lucky Ali Sangeeta Rao, Alisha Chinoy, bands like Band Of Boys, Euphoria, Colonial Cousins and even a few out of the box singers... remember the Patelscope Devang Patel with his chock there or Altaf Raja singing Tum toh thehere Pardesi...

What brought about this post on music and 90's.... well I installed YTMix app from Google Play store on my mobile which allowed me to listen these songs without ads and keeping YouTube open all the time.

And I must say I am in the 90's heaven listening to these songs and remembering those days when we had the best of everything...

Play on....
