R..Rajkumar - Movie Review

Caught R..Rajkumar on the tube, from the onset the movie looked like a typical south side movie made into a hindi potboiler.

Shahid Kapoor tries a lot to be an action hero, but the unkempt look does not suit him well. The plot is basic and meanders its way from a drug war between Ashish Vidyarthi and Sonu Sood to a love triangle between Shahid, Sonakshi and Sonu. Srihari as the drug cartel leader is wasted in a two bit role where he does not have screen presence for more than 15 mins max.

Sonu Sood looks menacing and comes across as a ruthless, unmoral gang leader Shivraj Gurjar who will not let anything or anyone come in the way of his ambitions. The action sequences are by and large not very imaginative, typical Hindi film stuff where the hero beats up 20, 30 or even 40 goons without breaking a sweat, but always is beaten black and blue by the villain before delivering the KO to him.

The movie has its moments, but they are extremely rare and very few. If you have nothing else to do and are looking for some cheap-ass entertainment then this is the one for you otherwise you can give it the skip.
