Have spent the entire day catching on with the documentaries from Discovery & Nat Geo. The amount of documentaries and information contained in them and presented by Discovery, History & Nat Geo is simply amazing.
I have been catching up on the Mega structures Series by Nat Geo.
The sheer scale of the projects being planned, the amount of technical knowledge necessary to execute them and the hurdles faced in combating nature is mind boggling. In spite of such overwhelming odds to finish the projects on time or even before time is nothing but amazing.
I can't help but contrast this approach with the Indian way of doing things, project overruns, delays, extensions have become the norm and are easily accepted by both the administration and the public. Looking at the scale of things being built by the Chinese I can't help but be awed by them and say wistfully.. "If only".
