Scamation DamNATION

We are going to DOGS!!!! No thats an insult to Dogs. Dogs are loyal. We are going to SCAMS....

Wow Politics in India pays and makes a person utterly, completely and throughly shameless. That is true coz it has made all these of Mammohan Singh (MMS). A honest politican credit with opening the finanacial sector in India and opening the doors for liberalization is now at the helm of a government whose ineptitude is surpassed  by it's multitude of Scams.

Politics is a dirty profession and people get tainted by association. That much is true and known worldwide. But what happening in India boggles the mind. Usually we have atleast 1 party which maintains it's integrity and thereby the hopes for a corrupt free environment. But in India the entire system has been co-opted into corruption. The administration, civil services, judiciary, media everybody has been neturalized by bringing them into flow.

Corruption is all prevalent. It's human nature and nobody can argue against it. But the level to which this rot stems is different country to country. In the western nations we see corruption by power, we see abuse at the top echelons of the system while the lower strata dealing with the people is generally free of the malaise.

In our great country we see corruption out and out from birth certificate to the death certificate. The complete cycle of life is filled with corruption. People have to pay bribes to get their basic utilities and essentials. Education and literacy are pipe dreams, you cannot bring eduction & literacy on empty stomach.

Honest ideas and voices are supressed by all means. That a great nation which was a becon of science and math is reduced to such a state is an indication of how far we have fallen.

Take a look at how some great ideas have been quashed by our inept system:
  • Jan Lokpal: A separate watchdog body with authority to punish corrupt officials and leaders has been disallowed on the grounds that it is against the "Constitution". That the consitution is being held above the people and their demands is a violation of the basic tenents of democracy seems to be escaping the minds of people. The 74 year of crusader leading the fight to bring about this change has been harassed and condemned by people who are not even fit to be peons for get leaders.
  • Aadhar Scheme: Nandan Nilekani proposed a brilliant idea of paying out the money directly to the bank accounts of people to avoid leakage in the system. Since this takes away the chance to indulge in scams our politicians are now opposing his scheme by saying he's extending his jurisdiction; he invading privacy. What The F**k? What privacy? Is P. Chidambaram not doing the same with his purpoted bills to strengthen the intelligence gathering?
  • Manmohan Singh: He was regarded as the cleanest politician in India. He entire reputation has gone into drain. The congress played the best game by co-opting him to head and government and then by systematically stripping him of all his powers effectively making him an puppet or cut-out.
There are countless such examples.

Lets look at some of the scams that have come out in the same time frame
  • CWG: This 1 humiliated the country internationally. Our ineptitude and cronism was exposed to the entire world. That the person in charge of this entire fiasco is still at the helm of our Olympic Association speaks volumes of our ability to deliver justice.
    • Cost to the Nation: INR8000 crores ($1.6 billion).
  • Aadarsh Society Scam: Our ruling class sank to a new low when they stole houses meant for the widows and family of our war heroes. That stole from a person who laid down his life for the country was the ultimate injustice that could have happened to these brace soles. It also proved that there is no morality within the political and beurocratic system at all.
  • 2G Spectrum: A. Raja and his cronies sold telecom licenses at throwaway prices in return for favors and fattening their bank accounts. Then having the audacity to say that it within the rules is a joke.
    • Cost to the Nation:  INR176,645 ($35.24 billion)
  • Coal Mining Scam: This one takes the collective cake. The government lost the exchequer more than $210 billion dollars. By allocating and not auctioning the blocks it caused such a huge loss in revenue. That it is in the same mould as the 2G scam should make us question how many scams are as of now unknown?
    • Cost to the Nation:  INR 10.7 lakh crores ($210 billion)
For the complete list of scam to have ever hit independent India refer to Wikipedia. Currently 2010 is a leading year for scam

The legacy that the independent India's politicians have left behind is of unparalleled and unmitigated corruption.

The Britishers looted us less than our own country men and didn't make any excuse for it.
