These are troubling times for the nation. We as people are at peril. Wherever you look, whichever way you turn, you find news that wipes a smile out of your face. We now face a question: Does our Government really care?
Let's take a look at the lowlights point by point:
1. Food Inflation shows no signs of receding. With the prices the way they are, eating is soon going to become a luxury rather than a necessity; but then does the government care?
2. CWG Scam shamed the nation in front of the whole world, our glorious leaders gluttony, greed and avarice for money was exposed internationally no less. But all the cronies of Mr. Kalmadi got bail & the entire matter will soon be absolved with everybody going scott free; but then does the government care?
3. Continuing with CWG theme, the one saving grace for the CWG; the opening & closing ceremony which we Indians love to brag about, the payments for the individuals responsible for giving us this pride inspite of our politicos best efforts have not had their dues settled. Again this has lead to embarassment on a international level with a new acronym being coined for our nation INDIA (I'll Never Do It Again); but then does the government care? 4. The 2G Spectrum scam which caused a loss of Rs. 1.76 lac crores to the Indian state exchequer has rebutted point by point by the new Telecom Minister. No action taken, no concrete steps seens, the guilty walking away scott free again, but then does the Government care?
These are just a few things that come to the mind immediately.
I ask myself what should we do? How to we get out of this mess? I come up blank.
I see no hope on the horizon, no politician, administrator, police officer, judicial official worth their salt to tide us through this mess. The whole system has gone rotten to the core. Everybody cares about their own skin, nobody is bothered about the nation or it's people; if the leaders who are appointed to govern our country act like this, then what happens to the nation, it people? but then does the government care?

The government does not care..
ReplyDeletePeople are taking care of themselves..We are losing face to the outside world, but We are too busy taking care of ourselves..all We can do is blame the government...and in the end...go on with our own lives..
People in other nations, say the U.S., go live in other countries for years, lay down their lives in travelling, and do things that We (Indians) wont normally do...Why??
Coz' Indians are busy earning, busy taking care of families, relations, making ends meet..We dont have time to take a stand against the government..We dont have time for the environment, As you said, We care about our own skin...Coz' no one will look after the family if We are not there...
Personally, I don't care what the government does till I have my freedom of movement and speech...And I might...I just might become someone like Mr. Kalmadi, if it gives me a chance to acquire money...and I have the assurance that I will get away with it..
Then maybe we are well and truly doomed...
